Why go Blu?

What is Blu-ray?

Why Go Blu? - All you need to know about Blu-ray
Blu ray Disc
Blu-ray is the next generation successor to the humble DVD. Blu-ray gets its name as the disc is read by a blue laser rather than the red laser used by DVD players.
While physically identical to a DVD, due to the marvels of technology, film studios can put much more onto the disc which means that your favourite movies not only look much better but you can also get advanced special features that gives you the best movie experience that you can get in your home. Blu-ray discs do not work in normal DVD players.

5 Reasons to go Blu

1. Around 6x the quality of a DVD
Which means pristine picture and the best movie experience you can get at home.
2. Up to 7.1 channels of surround sound
Your movies will come to life like never before.
3. Advanced interactive features
Access the menu screens without leaving the movie.
With picture and picture, director commentaries come to life with video, concept artwork and behind the scenes extras allowing you to delve into the making of your favourite movie like never before.
Integrated games and high definition extras give you more bang for your buck.
4. Backwards Compatible
It's not like the change from VHS to DVD, all your existing DVDs will work in a Blu-ray player.
That's not all - your Blu-ray player will often upscale your existing DVD to near Blu-ray quality! This means you can watch your old DVD movies in near high definition quality.
5. Less likely to break
We all hate it when our favourite DVD gets scratched.
Blu-ray discs have a special hard coat layer that helps to protect discs from scratching and damage.
